Coaching Conclusion

Throughout the developmental process, psychological games should be implemented to improve motivation, effort, attitude, determination, courage, concentration, anticipation, confidence and influences from outside soccer (spectators, video’s, parent’s, etc). As a club we need to promote a winner’s mentality when players do well and are focused in practice they are rewarded at the end (positive consequences), when they don’t they should have other consequences. They will work hard while practicing or playing or they will work without the ball. Practice should replicate the game as far as consequences. If one player does something right consistently the whole team benefits (wins or plays well), but if one player consistently does not help the team the whole team suffers (loses or plays poorly). The idea is to promote team responsibility for individual player. This means that the purpose of practice goes beyond physical exercise. The goal is to develop the players physically, psychologically, technical and tactically at the same time.
