Parade magazine has named Plano senior midfielder Corben Bone as
Player of the Year on its All-America Boys Soccer Team.

"To be a Parade All-American is one of the best things you can do as a
soccer player," Bone said. "It's good to know that all the hard work has
paid off and I get something in return."
Bone is one of 10 area players -- six boys and four girls -- named to
this year's squads. The boys and girls teams will be published in
Sunday's Parade.
Four of the players are repeat selections, including senior midfielder
Cameron Brown of Garland Naaman Forest; junior defender Ian Kalis, a
Plano resident who attends Jesuit; junior forward Melissa Henderson of
Richardson Berkner and junior defender Ashley Rape, a Dallas resident
who attends Greenhill.
First-time honorees include junior midfielders Jared Jeffrey of Dallas
and Greg Garza of Grapevine, who are members of the under-17 national
residency program in Bradenton, Fla.; junior midfielder Kaoru Forbess of
Garland Naaman Forest; junior defender Courtney Barg of Plano West and
senior defender Erica Campanelli of Plano.
