Matt Colvin
Matt is currently the Girls’ Varsity Coach at Southlake Carroll High School. In 2002, his first year at Carroll, Matt led his team to the Class 4A State Semi-Finals in Georgetown. Since 2002 his teams have made the playoffs reaching the 5A State Quarter-Finals in 2005 and 2006. In 2008, Matt’s team won the 5A State Championship. He was named District Coach of the Year in 2002, 2003, 2005, and 2007. Matt was named the FW Star-Telegram Coach of the Year in 2002, the Dallas Morning News Coach of the Year in 2008 and Region I Coach of the year in 2003 and 2008. He grew up in San Antonio where he played four years at Madison High School. Matt played club soccer for a city select travel team, which won three South Texas State Cups and the gold medal in the AAU Junior Olympics. Through his experience as a player, Matt competed against teams from England, Peru, Mexico, Germany, Russia, Scotland, and Canada. Matt earned an athletic scholarship to The University of Central Oklahoma and finished his degree at UNT.
